Who's Who At Kumon
Christine Cady, Owner/Director
Christine Cady has been a Kumon Instructor since 2003 and has recently achieved the distinction of the "1000 children helped" mark last month! Christine was born and raised in Toledo. A graduate of The University of Toledo with a Masters in Psychology & Public Administration, her entire life has been dedicated to teaching and learning program creation, as she designed and implemented curriculum for the developmentally disabled prior to starting this business. Teaching is her passion and the thing she loves about this program, is that she has had a direct impact on the academic lives of over 1000 children and helped them become more capable learners. The impact is far reaching, as her center currently has students from all over Northwest Ohio. She started this business for one reason and one reason only; to help as many children as she can, reach their full potential.
Chris first discovered Kumon through a friend who had a fourth-grade son who was struggling in math at that time. As soon as she found out about the Kumon method, it was love at first sight! As fate would have it, she was looking for teaching work closer to home (her commute then was to Monroe, MI each day). After visiting centers in Michigan, she knew this was her calling and Christine went on to begin her new career as a Kumon Owner/Director!
Sheri Browder , Junior Kumon Program Administer
A certified teacher, Sheri has also been with Christine for years. She is currently a Reading Specialist at Fort Meigs Elementary in Perrysburg and oversees the entire Junior Kumon program. There is not a child that has been in the Junior Kumon program that has not loved Ms. Sheri; She has a knack for congratulating them for work well done or encouraging them to be neater and more careful, Sheri has the knack to say it just right!!
Katie Ganz , Reading Specialist
A certified teacher, Katie is currently a Reading Specialist at Fort Meigs Elementary in Perrysburg and helps implement our wonderful reading program.
Patty Coughlin, Office Manager/Head Assistant
Patty is Christine's very capable head assistant. Patty is also local grown. A Graduate of The University of Toledo, she has been with Christine since the beginning and is fully capable of running the center when Christine is attending conferences etc. She is typically the friendly voice that you hear on the phone and the even friendlier face that your children see when they enter the Center.
Kumon Center Assistants
Christine employs eight to ten assistants to work with the students at each class session. At the time of their application for employment all staff are screened to ensure that they have the needed qualifications to assist your child in the Kumon program. In addition, all potential employees must complete all worksheet levels within Kumon’s standard completion time and score recommendations. Christine's philosophy is "if you don't have all levels mastered, how can you help 25 different students who are at different levels in the same night"? After this screening process, upon hiring, Christine then personally trains all staff members to ensure uniformity.
Most of all, Christine looks for staff who relates well with students of all ages, is passionate about wanting to help others, and who can share their enthusiasm for learning to inspire others. |
